Important Information Regarding Appointments at Gables Surgery During the Coronavirus (Covid-19) Pandemic

Due to the ongoing Coronavirus (Covid-19) pandemic, in order to protect you, your fellow patients, and our staff, we are currently following official government and public health guidance. Until further notice, all GP appointments will now be offered as telephone or video consultations only. We will also be suspending online booking of face to face GP appointments via the Patient Access App until further notice. Please DO NOT come to the surgery to see a doctor unless the GP advises you to do so on the telephone first.

Please DO NOT come to the surgery if are suffering from either a new continuous cough and/or fever, even if the symptoms are mild. NHS 111 has an online coronavirus service that can tell you if you need medical help and advise you what to do. If you feel your symptoms are worsening or not improving, please call 111.

Due to the pandemic current crisis, we advise you call the practice first instead of coming to the surgery. Please call us on: 0203 667 5410, to speak with a Receptionist. Please listen carefully to the options when calling the surgery.

We also advise patients to use our online services to access practice services.

eConsult – (A New Online Service – NOW LIVE)

From 03/04/2020, Gables Surgery now has a new online service to allow patients to access the practice for advice and help. eConsult is free to use for all patients. Patients can use eConsult to ask the GP about your health symptoms, conditions or treatment. You can even request things like sick notes and GP letters.

The eConsult system is easy to use. You simply have to explain your symptom, condition or request, fill out a quick form and submit. The practice will then respond by phone or email, usually by the end of the next working day.

To submit an eConsult request, please click on the eConsult pop up banner appearing now on this website, or alternatively PLEASE CLICK HERE to submit a new eConsult.

PLEASE NOTE: If you fell your condition is urgent then please call 111, or in an emergency please call 999.

To Speak with a GP on the Phone

We also offer telephone appointments if you wish to speak with a GP over the phone. Telephone consultations can be booked using askmyGP, or by calling us or coming to reception.

GP Home Visit Requests

Home visit requests must be made before 10.00am where possible. Home visits are made if clinically indicated and are at the doctors' discretion. For this reason, visits can only be offered to terminally ill patients and/or those patients who are genuinely house-bound or too ill to attend the surgery. A doctor will triage any home visit requests prior to visiting to ensure a visit is needed.

It is always preferable if patients can try to come to the surgery where the best facilities are available.

Where possible the practice will recommend the local Community Treatment Team (CTT) to visit those people who are experiencing an acute, physical health crisis, for example: exacerbation of infections or worsening of long term conditions such as COPD and falls without injuries. The community treatment team (CTT) works with adults in the community with an acute physical need who could potentially be treated at home.
